Autism vs. RF-Microwaves - New research

Based on recent 2025-2026 research, radiofrequency (RF) radiation exposure (800-2.400 MHz), such as that from mobile phones or Wi-Fi, can impact human brain development by "reactivating" dormant "genetic remnants" known as “Human Endogenous RetroViruses” (HERV´s) in developing neurons. Causing ancient dormant viral genetic elements within our DNA to become active and start producing RNA or proteins.

This abnormal epigenetic induction of HERV´s is linked to developmental delays and, specifically, the disruption of neuronal maturation, which is believed to be a mechanistic link to neurodevelopmental conditions like Autism, ADHD/Asperger and other neurodevelopmental disorders (ALS, MS...).

The activated HERV´s may disrupt normal neuronal development, leading to autism-like characteristics including delayed neuronal maturation, increased neural stem cell proliferation and increased synapse density. HERV reactivation is often associated with pro-inflammatory responses and microglial-mediated synaptic pruning in the brain.
